Today is a very sad day in that it is our last day on the tour. We have had a marvelous time together reasoning from the scriptures and learning about the past. Today we went to Eisenach and visited the Wartberg Castle where Martin Luther hid after he was excommunicated from the Roman Catholic Church....

We spent a cloudy day in Wittenberg after a short bus ride from Erfurt. We saw the Castle-Church ( under much scaffolding and construction) and visited the Town-Church (also under construction). We saw the place- not the actual door- where Martin Luther nailed (posted) his 95 Theses to the Castle Church....

We headed for Erfurt, Germany early this morning. We were on the bus for about 11 1/2 hrs. due to some heavy traffic but enjoyed the scenic countryside and good fellowship. Today was spent traveling along the most beautiful countryside on our way to Venice. What a great place to visit - a shopper's paradise! Italy has been amazing for those who love leather goods (Gucci purses, leather gloves - a few items purchased :)), Murano glass, and anything else you can picture....

We have stayed two nights at a wonderful hotel about an hour outside of Rome where the Bible tells us Paul was encouraged at the Forum Appius. Our Hotel Foro Appio would have been the very spot he traveled and was encouraged. The quaintness of the countryside and awesomeness of the history was astounding...
