Petra

It’s amazing what a good night of sleep can do for the mind, body, and soul. We woke up to a beautiful comfortable morning, packed up and enjoyed a tasty buffet breakfast before going to Petra to explore. And, it did not disappoint!

The walk in the desert climate through rock canyons was spectacular. We ended up at the ancient Treasury made famous by the Indiana Jones movie. We marveled at a man made structure carved out of the side of mountain, two thousand years ago. It’s hard to comprehend the ingenuity, imagination, and engineering this required. God has given mankind incomprehensible abilities. We went from awestruck, to donkey ride. It was fun, hilarious, and a great photo op.

It was a full morning covering several miles so we were ready for lunch at, My Mom’s Recipe Restaurant. That’s right, in the heart of Jordan. Then on to the bus headed for Wadi Rum, Sun City Camp. This upscale Bedouin experience is impressive. A fantastic Jeep ride through the desert and an amazing sunset, followed by a Bedouin style, in the ground cooked, chicken and lamb dinner. Star gazing in the beautiful desert night and time for a great night of rest.
