Day 05 - Galilee: Katzrin, Mount Bental, Caesarea Philippi, Tel Dan

We started our Sunday morning in worship and prayer on the shore of the Sea of Galilee.

We drove up to Katzrin, a Jewish village, to get a glimpse at what daily life was like during Jesus’ time. We got to wear traditional clothing (there was even a traditional A’s hat for Pastor Jesse!), make pita bread over a fire, and explore a reconstructed stone house. Pastor Jesse shared a devotional on the story of Jesus saving the paralyzed man, which happened in a similar designed home.

Following Katzrin, the group took some time to reflect on the trip at Mount Arbel. Just as Jesus often went to a mountaintop to pray and spend time with God, each of us had a moment to sit quietly on the cliff looking over the western shore of the Sea. We continue to be in awe of God’s beautiful creations.

The day concluded with a visit to Kursi, where the group gathered to hear a teaching from Pastor Jesse on the healing of the demon-possessed man (Mark 5:1-20), which may have taken place in or near Kursi.
