Day 05 - Upper Galilee: Gamla, Caesarea Philippi, Tel Dan

It has been an amazing Shabot (Sabbath)! We went to a special place for devotion this morning - an overlook on the Sea of Galilee. Then, we spent the majority of the morning at Gamla, a Zealot fortress. The hike up was so beautiful and pleasant. At the top, we talked about our zeal for the Lord. We spent the afternoon between two different locations. The first, Caesarea Philippi, where there had previously been a temple to Augustus Caesar, a temple to Zeus and a place for Pan worship. This is the place where Jesus took the disciples and asked them, “Who do you say that I am?” The second stop was Tel Dan, the ancient land that a portion of the tribe Dan moved to. On the way back, Brent Cockerham treated us all to Israeli ice cream! Once we got back to our hotel, Pastor Brian baptized four people from our group in the Sea of Galilee. What a blessing!
