God can handle it

Hi everyone!

Our trip “family” is Woog and Red Wohlgemuth, Brenda Jacobson, Sanny and Beth Uy

What day is it? Hump day!

Yes, it is Wednesday and our camel ride day. How awesome is that?

We started our day at Beersheba where Pastor Dave Epstein taught about Isaac and Ishmael and the theme of conflict and love. Abraham loved both of his sons, but Sarah asked him to banish Ishmael and his mother Hagar. God made his covenant through Isaac, but also loved Ishmael and made him into a nation as well. Those two nations, just like our own lives, have been in conflict ever since. As Pastor Dave said, “It’s complicated, but God can handle it.” God handles our conflict with grace and compassion and calls us to always have hope. God loved and provided for Isaac and Ishmael, and he will always love and provide for us.

Ber'erSheva

Beer-Sheva (/bɪərˈʃiːbə/; Hebrew: בְּאֵר שֶׁבַע About this sound Be'er Sheva [beʔeʁˈʃeva]; Arabic: بئر السبع‎‎ About this sound Bi'ir as-Sab [biːr esˈsabeʕ]) is the largest city in the Negev desert of southern Israel. Often referred to as the "Capital of the Negev", it is the center of the fourth most populous metropolitan area in Israel, the eighth most populous city in Israel with a population of 203,604, and the second largest city with a total of 117,500 dunams (after Jerusalem).

After Beersheba we walked the Wilderness of Zin. Pastor Jeff reminded us how God provided for the people of Israel in miraculous ways as they wandered in the desert. We were reminded that God will also provide for us in miraculous ways.

As we write this, we are sitting on the side of the road, with a flat tire. No worries! God will provide.
