Help support our friends in Israel in their time of need.
Today was centered around our bus journey from the Galilee to Jerusalem. Along the way, we stopped at several sites, the first of which was Megiddo. This was a major trade route connecting Egypt and Mesopotamia. As such, it was a strategic location to control in Bible times. Megiddo was built by King Solomon. You can watch Pastor Jesse’s teaching on King Solomon at the top of Megiddo.
Our second stop was Mount Carmel, where the story of Elijah and the prophets of Baal took place (1 Kings 18:16-46). It had a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding area. Pastor Jesse shared a teaching on the story of Elijah and the prophets of Baal.
The final stop was Caesarea Maritima, a port town built by Herod with an incredible aqueduct, amphitheater, and hippodrome. Everyone had a great time exploring the gigantic structure. Some climbed on top of the ancient aqueduct! However, as we were leaving, we saw a sign saying "no climbing...," somehow everyone single person in our group missed the sign (sorry)! Paul was imprisoned here for 2 years before being sent to Rome. Pastor Jesse shared a teaching on the story of Peter sharing the gospel with the Gentiles, which would change the future forever.
More to share tomorrow!
