The halfway point

Shabbat Shalom! Day 4 was our busiest day yet! We started the day with a very strenuous yet rewarding hike. The, shall we say, challenging (and sometimes exhausting) hike up was well worth it for the breath-taking view we had of the Sea of Galilee at the end. That’s right folks, we are officially at the Sea of Galilee! The majority of the lessons Josh taught on today centered around Jesus’ ministry and how He gathered His disciples. We visited many sites and towns where Jesus and the disciples spent time throughout their ministry together. There are no words to explain what it’s like getting to stand in places where Jesus once was. It’s a moving and profound experience. We ended the day after going non-stop for 12 hours with a trip to the Jordan River. It was quite refreshing to get in the water after spending all day outside. We also had the joy and privilege to watch a couple of our group members get baptized!

As one of our group members Nathan would say, “Big day today!” It was indeed a very big day. Some of our favorite moments: having our own version of Israeli Fear Factor while climbing down a mountain using only cables and footholds (is this really a favorite moment? Some would say yes, while others would say DEFINITELY NOT), trying Israel’s national food: the Falafel, and discovering that there is such a thing as mountain cows and witnessing them in action.

We reached the halfway point of our time here in Israel, and are ecstatic to see what the Lord has in store (wise words from Josh Allen).
