Day 03 - Fri Oct 19

We started our morning at Ein Gedi, the canyon spring where David would have hid from Saul while on the run. We discussed, prayed and read about God’s protection. Then we continued up the coast of the Dead Sea to Qumran to see the cave where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. We passed through Jericho on our way to northern Israel. Next we stopped at Bet Sh’ean to see the Roman city built to make a statement about the power of Rome - but as we saw, it had been destroyed by an earthquake. We ended our night at a kibbutz on the shore of the Sea of Galilee just as Shabbat (the Sabbath) was starting!
