Help support our friends in Israel in their time of need.
My heart is so full as our last day in Israel comes to a close. I’m blessed to experience the heritage of my faith in Jesus in the fullness of the pictures and places of this special land. As we stood on the Mount of Olives and viewed the Old City of Jerusalem, I’m reminded of Jesus’ voluntary sacrificial love for all people. We walked down from the Mount of Olives to the garden of Gethsemane following a group of Korean Christians singing and praising God. Old olives trees then surround the Church of the Nations or as it’s also called the Basilica of the Agony and people from around the world are there to visit and see where Jesus walked and agonized. As we enter the Old City through the Lion’s gate we follow Muslims who are heading to the Temple Mount for the call to prayer and worship that is being chanted from the minaret. Priests and nuns of many sects of Christianity make their way to the stations of the cross. Varieties of headdresses and coverings, robes and cassocks and languages surround me. It’s overwhelming in it’s complexity and diversity. But the beauty of these moments bring me back to the simplicity and grandeur of God’s plan of salvation for all peoples who chose to believe. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him will have everlasting life.”
