Help support our friends in Israel in their time of need.
Today we had a very busy day around the Sea of Galilee! 7 stops! And the weather was all over the place. First rainy and chilly, then warm sun, sprinkles, wind, back to warm beautiful sun and then downright chilly.
First stop: Mt Arbel - beautiful hike up this mountain to overlook the Sea of Galilee and it’s beautiful surroundings.
2nd stop: Magdala - first century ruins in hometown of Mary Magdalene. Synagogue where Jesus most likely taught. Fish market and large home that had their own personal mikvah for ritual cleansing, indicative of a wealthy family.
3rd stop: Tabgha - the place Jesus met the disciples and cooked them breakfast after His resurrection. Here Jesus asked Peter 3 times if Peter loves Him. Then hands the ministry over to Peter.
4th stop: Capernaum - Where Jesus and Peter lived. Lots of healings and miracles done here. So many that the fact there were several unbelievers Jesus curses it with a “Woe”.
5th stop: Chorazin - for some lunch and teaching. Corazim is about 2 miles from Capernaum and visited often by Jesus. It and Bethsaida also get a curse of “woe to them”.
6th stop: Mount of Beatitudes. Latin "Beat" means blessings so it’s the Mount of Blessings. Sweeping views of the lake and a special time to reflect on what is most important to Jesus.
7th and final stop was a chilly but beautiful boat ride across the Sea Of Galilee. Bonus feature was a double rainbow that lasted almost the entire ride. What a way to end a spectacular day.
Back to the hotel for an amazing dinner and fellowship and then to bed.
