Help support our friends in Israel in their time of need.
We are on the bus again for another jammed packed fun day in beautiful western Turkiye. One of the first announcements from our guides is where the next bathroom break will be. Thank goodness. I thought I had missed one in Turkiye.
First stop: the ancient Hittite city of Priene, later becoming the Roman city in which Alexander the Great had his home. The belief in 27 BC was that the first emperor of Rome, Augustus, was sent to us as a savior of the world. He united the world in language, commerce and culture. They were mistaken. We know who the real Savior of the World is: Jesus.
Built in the third century BC, the theater at Priene is one of the best preserved theaters in all of Asia Minor. Everyone in the group had a wonderful time, pretending we were nobility, sitting in the best seats. I guess we are nobility being that we are the King's children. Aaron, Melinda inspired us with scripture and how the first century Christians had to live alongside this self obsessed culture. Does that sound familiar to anyone? Terry encouraged us to appreciate the people who poured into our lives. Just as Paul invested in the next generation, don’t underestimate the importance of how we all influence our family and friends.
