We Have Arrived!

Today we left America and began our journey to the Holy Land. We met in San Francisco, boarded a plane to Istanbul, managed to survive the 13-hour flight by watching movies, finishing up our online study courses, holding good conversation, and sleeping; although for some, the sleep portion only lasted 30 minutes. Some of us believe we can now add Turkey to our list of countries visited because we landed in Turkey for our layover and even stepped off the plane and out into Turkish air before boarding our final flight to Tel Aviv. Others, believe this doesn’t count. We’ll leave that open to interpretation.

As I sit here now reflecting, I can’t help but smile. We have the opportunity to travel, a church community that provides a trip such as this, relationships that are already being forged, and a God who takes care of us before we even realize we need his help. We are all very excited for this trip, and as we just landed in Israel we are going to get some rest and start the fun first thing tomorrow morning!
