Help support our friends in Israel in their time of need.
We gravitate towards the big and the loud, the dramatic and the colorful.
And while God speaks through both large and little, I wonder if our focus on the impressive entertainment of our world or even the amazing moves of God is causing us to miss out on His whisper?
On the rocks of Mount Carmel today, we examined the fiery passion of Elijah and wrestled with how to balance a strength like his with doing things God’s way. While passion and fire make for incredible moments, they are not enough to endure or sustain. Just one experience won’t do it.
God is not asking for a performance, but for our authenticity. For us to become attuned to the sound of His voice, finding it unmistakable amidst the noise of our world, whether it be loud as a clap of thunder or quiet as a whisper. For us to show others how to do the same with fire and passion, making disciples who will listen and obey.
So today we ask, do we know our Father’s voice? Will we become a people who truly hear?
