Day 04 - Aphrodisias and Philadelphia

Hi everyone! Day 4 has been packed full of wonderful locations and lessons. We started day off at the ancient city of Aphrodisias, a city dedicated to the goddess, Aphrodite. Although this city is not mentioned in scripture, it is a helpful example for understanding what religion and culture the disciples were up against. While in Aphrodisias, we visited a stadium where the Romans would have participated in athletic and gladiator activities. We talked about the metaphor of our lives as a race and finishing well. Our next location was a bit of a drive away. We ended the day at what was Philadelphia, the location of one of the churches that John wrote to in Revelation 2. We discussed identity and how Jesus rewards faithfulness above all. Thank you so much for your prayers. We're excited for what the Lord has for us tomorrow!
