Help support our friends in Israel in their time of need.
Day 8 has been incredible! We started at the Temple Mount, where the temple formally stood. Now, the Dome of the Rock is there. Our tour guide, Ronen, shared the history of the temple and what’s there now with us. We, then, went to the City of David (not Bethlehem) and watched a movie about David conquering that area. While we were there, we walked through Hezekiah’s tunnels, aqueducts that provided water for the city, as well as the Pool of Siloam. A family in Bethlehem hosted us for lunch in their home and then we went shopping. Afterwards, we visited the Church of the Nativity, which is a church built over the place where Jesus was born. We spent the majority of the afternoon at Herodium, the place of one of Herod’s palaces and his burial place. Tomorrow is our last day. It’s bittersweet, but we’re thankful for the time the Lord has given us.
