Wadi Rum

Today was a travel day as we left Egypt and our time on the Nile and made our way to Aswan International Airport to catch our charter flight and head to Aqaba Jordan. After clearing customs we met our Jordanian guide team and were treated to a nice lunch in the city. The Gulf of Aqaba is a unique as this is an place were 4 countries meet up (Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Saudi Arabia). From lunch we drove into the desert and the area known as Wadi Rum. If you have ever seen the movie the Martian with Matt Damon this is the place they filmed it. The location is breathtaking and we will be staying in vary nice Bedouin style tents (with air conditioning of course). A great part of the day was a surprise of a jeep ride to take us to watch the sunset and see some of Wadi Rums amazing sites. After our ride we were treated to an authentic Bedouin dinner cooked in a ungrounded pit. The night was full of laughter, new friends and the ability to view some amazing stars. The journey has been amazing and we look forward to what the next few days will bring.
