Help support our friends in Israel in their time of need.
What a joy to be in the land I have been reading about for so many years and with God’s Chosen People!
We began the morning with a hearty breakfast and great fellowship, as we do daily. Our team completed the 3rd day at Kaplan Hospital in Rehovot and it was awesome! My job is working in the kitchen, washing pots. There is a lot of activity associated with meal preparation, such as pots boiling, salad chopping, dessert baking, chicken frying, and dish-washing. Relationships are quickly forming, even though many do not speak English.
There is a kitchen worker named Gadi who is interested in talking with us daily. He wants to see pictures (on our cellphones) and practice his English. He stated he obtained English from watching cartoons on TV. We are learning Hebrew from him and he is learning English from us. Dick (another team member) and Gadi also share stories about their motorcycles.
Love is a universal language and I experienced it today with many hugs and kisses from the staff. They are thankful we are here, and so are we. Isn't God amazing in how He works? We have come to Israel to serve employees at the hospital, but God is blessing us beyond measure through those whom we have met!
I once heard someone say that people don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care. I am thankful that God is building relationships through the Hesed team that will last a life time. My prayer is that the love of Yeshua and how much we care will radiate through us.
I will be forever changed by being here.
