Help support our friends in Israel in their time of need.
Shalom from Israel! This trip has been so incredible for me. Even though I have had my share of troubles, I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.
Today I was able to work in the laundry department with Cathy. It was so much fun to be able to work with Rinone, a local Israeli. He started us off with Turkish coffee. Then a half hour later, he put us to work counting laundry to put in different metal bins. These bins were then taken to different departments in the hospital to be used by the staff.
My favorite part of the day, though, wasn’t the working. It was being able to interact with the locals. I didn’t understand them most of the time, but we made it work, and I loved listening to them interact with each other. They are such a special people and I love learning about their culture and life.
After lunch, Cathy and I were able to spend the afternoon talking to one of the guys in the laundry department. This was followed by a discussion with a local Orthodox Jew who happened to walk through our area.
I love the opportunity to talk to these dear people, and to learn a little of their language, and to share my love for them, and my love for Israel. I can’t wait to see what will come next.
