Help support our friends in Israel in their time of need.
"As Peter traveled about the country, he went to visit the Lord's people who lived in Lydda. There he found a man named Aeneas, who was paralyzed and had been bedridden for eight years. "Aeneas", Peter said to him, "Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and roll up your mat." Immediately Aeneas got up. All those who lived in Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord."
- Acts 9:32-35
Well, we finally made it to the Holy Land! After starting the day around 2:30 at Wellspring Church in Hudsonville MI, we made the trek to Chicago in three vehicles and a little over 3 hours. We arrived at the O'Hare International Airport and got through check-in and security without a hitch. Waiting for the plane to arrive to begin the flight at 9:15 did not seem even half as long as the 11 hour flight from Chicago to Istanbul. Everyone survived though and were happy to stretch their legs for a very short amount of time before boarding the next plane that would take us from Istanbul, Turkey to our destination in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem. With semi full stomachs and an urge to get to the hotel, we made our way through passport checks and baggage claim in good time. Wellspring's group also had a chance to meet and greet the group that would be joining us from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. At this time we also met our tour guide for the trip, Dan, and our bus driver/chef, Eli. Making the short 45 min drive from the airport to the hotel seemed like a breeze with Dan's stories. On the bus is where Dan told us about how the airport just about sits on top of what used to be Lydda from the Bible passage that I shared with you at the beginning of this post. It seems unreal to be standing in the place that Jesus and his disciples once walked. Upon arriving at the hotel a few announcements were given and then everyone scattered to their own respected rooms to get some well needed rest.
Thank you for being a part of this journey with us and please be in prayer that we as a group will be able to hear clearly from God while we are here and that he would be glorified in all that we learn and see.
In Christ Alone,
Keegan Mebert
