Day 07 - Jerusalem: Temple Mount, Western Wall, Rabbinic Tunnels, Herodium, Bethlehem

We are finally ready for Jerusalem! The noise and congestion of the city on the hill is in sharp contrast to the peaceful rolling hills of Galilee. Today we toured the Temple Mount. 

We learned so much history about King Solomon to Herod the Great. Underground, a new excavation site has uncovered the Western Wall of the Temple close to the Holy of Holies. Everyone was encouraged to spend some quiet time at the Wailing Wall. 

After a picnic lunch of a delicious falafel, soda, and Oreo cookie we visited the Shepherds Field in Bethlehem. Pastor Craig gave an insightful Christmas message. We sang ‘Angels We Have Heard on High’  and later sang the Doxology in a small chapel with amazing acoustics. Our last stop in Bethlehem was at a very nice Christian-owned gift shop.
