Day 00 - Traveling Mercies Received!

It feels like we began our journey to Israel weeks ago, but in reality it’s only been two days of travel–Give or take some time zone changes.  Our aliyah has, thus far, been uneventful–Thank God!–with only light turbulence. All COVID tests have come back negative so we will all have government approval to escape into the Judean foothills tomorrow morning.

My daughter was delighted for the opportunity to eat Turkish delight during our layover in Istanbul. She compromised by eating it, not on a moonlit night, but under the fluorescent lights of gate T-11. My apologies to the Turks who may have overheard my kids singing “Istanbul (Not Constantinople)” on their way to the terminal. Thank you for your gracious endurance.

We can’t wait to share our experiences with you on this blog. I promise you, the posts will be more profound in the coming days when we’ve experienced more than TSA lines and duty free shops!

We go to bed tonight in Israel, excited to see what God gives tomorrow!
