Day 00 - ARRIVAL IN TURKEY

This morning, we woke up scattered across the United States,  from the misty northwest in Seattle, to the rocky shores of Connecticut, from the sunlit coasts of Florida to the rugged landscapes of California , and everywhere in between.

Fifty travelers.

Backpacks packed.

Bibles in hand.

One by one, we boarded planes and set our sights eastward. Across time zones and continents, we converged in the vibrant city of Istanbul.

There, we raced across the airport, weaving through crowds. As the last person rossed the gate’s threshold,  it closed. 

A small miracle.

Our true journey had begun.

In the days ahead, we will walk in the footsteps of Jesus’ letters to the seven churches.

We will trace the journeys of Paul, who once brought the Gospel to this land with passion and sacrifice.

We will explore the ways early Christians, against all odds, transformed their world, and history as we know it. 

We will walk.

We will pray.

We will reflect.

We will be challenged to ask:

How is God inviting us, even calling us, to do the same in our own context?

But tonight we rest…

…For tomorrow, the true journey begins.
