Day 09 - Western Coast : Ephesus, Ephesus Museum, Free Time

What a fantastic finish to an amazing trip! 

We spent the morning in Ephesus. It is a very crowded tourist site but our guide, Ozan, was able to get us in an hour before it opened. We had the whole site to ourselves as we walked the ancient streets to the iconic library building and then to the theatre where Scripture records that a riot broke out as a result of Paul’s teaching (Acts 19). Rich reminded us that it was the Gospel that was the focus of Paul's teaching, and it was the Gospel that had such a powerful impact on the citizens of Ephesus.

We took a short bus ride from there to the site of the Temple of Artemis and then went to lunch. 

The tour finished at the Ephesus Museum. 

We learned so much over the past 9 days and saw firsthand the reality of the Roman world where Paul brought the good news of Jesus Christ. And along the way we all made some new friends.
