Day 01 - Antalya Harbor, Antalya Museum, Roman Road

After a full day of travel yesterday, the group was rewarded with a wonderful first day in Turkey. We started out with an amazing breakfast buffet which we ate overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. From there we walked along the Sea to the Antalya Harbor where Rich gave us our first teaching. The bottom line is that the Apostle Paul had to make a heroic effort to navigate the Mediterranean Sea and then the harsh mountain passes in order to bring the Gospel to this part of the world. 

Our second stop was at the Antalya Museum where we saw first hand that this world Paul lived in was the world of the Roman Empire.
We finished the day with a beautiful 2 1/2 hour hike along an ancient Roman road that is likely the path used by Paul and Barnabas on their first missionary journey. We marveled at the engineering and were reminded that the Romans built these roads in order to move their military more efficiently, and to show their power. Of course, in God’s perfect plan, all of the world events under Rome played into the sovereign timing of God in which Jesus was born (Galatians 4:4). Continue to follow our trip
