Help support our friends in Israel in their time of need.
It is hard to put into words the last days, hours, and moments of Jesus’ earthly life, but today we walked those steps.
We began on the Mount of Olives, taking in the sweeping panorama of Jerusalem. From this hill, Jesus entered the city during His final week, crossing down through the Kidron Valley, a valley that would soon flow with the blood of Passover lambs sacrificed at the altar. He ascended to the Temple Mount, where He taught, confronted, and proclaimed His Kingdom.
From there, we descended into the quiet shadows of Gethsemane. Here, olive trees still stand as witnesses to His surrender. Here, He prayed, wept, and yielded His will to the Father. Here, He felt His soul crushing for the sins of the world and the price of redemption. Gethsemane reminds us that the way to glory passes through surrender, and the way to life, first leads through death.
Gathered in the place where Jesus poured out His heart and set His face toward the cross, we ended our time with communion, prayer, and worship,
Today our pilgrimage ends, but the story does not. Christ is risen. His Spirit has been poured out. His power has been granted. His gifts have been given. And His mission continues, through us.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for walking the road to the cross. Teach us to follow in Your surrender, to live in Your resurrection, and to carry Your mission into the world. Amen.
“The cross is not the end of the story; it is the doorway. Beyond it lies resurrection, Spirit, mission, and life.” – N. T. Wright
The journey is the destination.
