Help support our friends in Israel in their time of need.
We had an early morning departure from our river boat to catch a flight from Aswan to Aqaba, saying goodbye to Egypt and hello to Jordan. As we waited for our flight to leave, we discussed the route of the Exodus from Goshen, and where Israel could possibly have crossed the Red Sea. We then boarded our flight, making our own exodus, crossing the Gulf of Suez and skirting the southern tip of the Sinai Penisula and flying north along the western shore of the Gulf of Aqaba. We landed in Aqaba at noon, boarded a bus and made our way to the Sun City Camp at Wadi Rum for lunch.
After lunch and checking into our tents, we loading into jeeps and drove out to explore what is clearly one of the most beautiful deserts on earth. We stopped at a sand dune to get a view of one of the grand vistas at Wadi Rum and then sat in a quiet place to discuss Yahweh as the God of the Arabian desert who led and formed His people in terrain like this. We drove further and stopped to watch the sunset, where Jerrell led us in a study of Moses striking the rock in the wilderness, bringing forth water for the people to drink. That rock was Christ.
After returning to the camp, we enjoyed a traditional Bedouin meal and watched the beauty of the night sky until turning in for the evening. Wow, what a day!
