Day 01 - Wed., January 12

Hello, friends and family! Our group was reminded that when you travel internationally, you have to be flexible. We all left the states on Monday and arrived in Istanbul 12 hours later on Tuesday. We boarded our 1 hour flight to Antalya at 6 pm and ended up back in Istanbul 7 hours later! Bad weather in Antalya caused us to divert to Konya, Turkey (see the flight graphic that shows how many holding pattern loops we did). After sitting on the tarmac for a few hours in Konya, we flew back to Istanbul. Hotel arrangements were made and we all got some food and a few hours of much needed sleep. We went back to Istanbul airport today and this time, the flight went as scheduled. We are now in Antalya and excited to get on with our trip! Thanks for all the prayers.
