Day 04 - West Central Turkey: Aphrodisias, Philadelphia

Turkey...truly a beautiful country! Today we went to Aphrodisias. We were able to walk the city of ruins and learned so much about the ancient culture who lived here and it’s history. I was encouraged by the teaching and really began to appreciate the many word pictures that are used in Scripture to help the people and us understand how Yahweh is the true God. Our God came near, bridged the gap, and takes us to be with Him!! Such a contrast to the gods of the ancient world, as well as the other world religions. We are indeed His poem, His “sebastian” (story), His love to the world!

The next site was the ancient city of Philadelphia. Though it is unable to be excavated at this time, we were able to sit and learn in the 5th century church ruins! How faithful this church was to the Lord!! Jesus commends the church of Philadelphia for its faithfulness in the face of persecution. God used the teaching to remind me that He desires us to be faithful with where

 He has us!! We must not compromise! We must be found faithful!! We must proclaim His love and greatness to the people in our circles. May God find us faithful! His is worthy!!!
