Day 7 - Travel to Athens and Temple of Poseidon

Today, we woke up early in the morning at our hotel in Turkey to head to the airport and depart for Athens. We said our farewell to Ozan, our incredible tour guide who shared his love for history and sense of humor with us throughout our time in Turkey.

Our flights were short and lasted a total of 3 hours combined between a flight to Istanbul and then Athens. We enjoyed each other's company and interacted with new people along the way.

After landing in Athens, we met our new tour guide, Maria, who told us about herself and how she became a tour guide. From the airport, we headed straight to the temple of Poseidon located along the edge of Athens. Maria told us about the amazing history of the temple which led to a great sermon by Pastor Chad and Pastor Anthony about how our GOD desires a personal relationship with us contrasting to how the “gods” that were worshiped in the temple were purely based on fear.

After this, we found our hotel that we will be staying at for the next 3 days and ate a great Greek meal to end the night.

We can’t wait to see what tomorrow holds and discover new historical sights!
