Day 02 - Sardis, Colossae

OK, THIS HAS TO STOP! They have been feeding us way too much. I think I’ve gained an extra 7 pounds in the last three days as evidence by the desert line at every meal. We started with a tour of the city of Sardis and ended in Colossae. We were treated to wonderful insights from Terry, Peter and Gohahn, our guides. I am inspired to read more about the biblical history of Turkiye so I bought a book for $20. Well worth it!!!

We had a charming roadside lunch being serenaded by a waterfall. Our stop at Colossae was a sweet time of sharing our lives as sons and daughters of the King of  Kings. Luckily the leadership took pity on the lack of skip in our steps as we returned to the bus. We were honored to put into practice our flexibility skills that we learned from Terry the very first day. Our options for the evening activities included shopping, napping, thermal pools or massage. We ended the day with another bountiful banquet. I sure wish I had been hungry.

Before I end the day, I must say something about the disadvantage we women have at each rest stop. We had to commandeer the men’s  facilities to expedite the line in an attempt to stay on schedule. Some brave women volunteered to use the squatter, exercising our quads and challenging our balance. Turkiye is full of suprises!
