Help support our friends in Israel in their time of need.
Our first stop of the day was Masada. Masada is 1.42 miles in height. We took the trail as a team, making it up one step at a time. It was hard for many of us, me included, but with the support of our Joshua classmates and the staff, WE ALL MADE IT TO THE TOP TOGETHER!!! Once at the top we learned about the Zealots and their history. Next we traveled on to Ein Gedi and learned about David and Saul. Then we got to stand in Mayim Hayim (Living Water), and we learned about instilling how we live and bringing it all back to God. He is our living water.
Once we finished we took off our shoes and walked in the living water. Our next stop was at Qumran. This is where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found in 1946-1947. There we learned about the Essenes and their way of living. We were given many unanswered questions onto where or when they disappeared to. They cleansed themselves in Mikveh’s (Ritual Baths). To show that they wanted to be spiritual clean for God. Showing their love and devotion to them. Then we hiked up a little path to a wadi nearby and listened to Bob talked about building a great foundation, not only for a house, but in your faith and how you walk with God. My big take away for today is that, when you face your fears you can see some thing beautiful out of it. From climbing Masada to you how you walk with God.
