Hold Fast

Our first official day of touring and learning is finally complete. As we head to sleep our minds are racing through the last multitude of hours of everything that we learned today. Going from city to city on a tour bus is exciting and yet still taxiing on our minds but primarily our legs. At each site we went to, we were able to walk through ruins of a city that is no more.

Through the teaching of Brad Bell and Shea Sumlin, we saw the cities of Pergamum, Thyatira, and Sardis through a historical lens that is bringing the New Testament to life with incredible depth and meaning. Tomorrow will be yet another long day of bus rides, walking through 1st century architecture, and listening to the teachings of Mike Slayden, Shea Sumlin, and our wonderful tour guide, Ozon. Although the walking is tough and the bus rides long we must continue to hold fast, knowing that what we are learning will allow for us to present God's word with greater understanding and knowledge. That...and the beds of our next hotel aren't too far away.
