Help support our friends in Israel in their time of need.
Hello everyone, Tori here. Mr. Brent asked me to write the post for today, so here I am. And here you are.
Today I think it'd be safe to say we all got our minds blown... again. Marty became a character who guided us on a tour through the Ascelepion temple, and what the process of getting hospital treatment in Pergamum would look like. We were also more formally introduced to the idea of talking in Text to the culture there, so that was rad.
We went to lunch, had deep convos and delicious food, and then proceeded to make our way to the main city hub ruins of Pergamum. We saw many a ruin, many a temple, and we even saw a place that was considered to be Satan's throne (now there's a sentence you don't see every day). We continued to talk about John's brilliant writing skills. We wrestled, we laughed, we cried, we sunburned—it was the best.
After that, we made a quick stop at Thyatira, had some more mind-blowing discussions, and many lightbulbs began to flicker on as we started to get a grip of what using the Text in culture might look like.
Afterwards, we took a lively bus ride to our hotel, had THE BEST meal so far (for me) on the trip, and proceeded to have some ice-cold blunt discussion over theology after dinner—all in a days work.
I hope your day was good, 'cause mine was awesome. Turkey is absolutely beautiful—you should try it some time.
