A humbling and inspiring walk

What an amazing day! We began our journey this morning connecting with the true roots of biblical Christianity. We have been grafted into God’s people, adopted through the sacrifice of Jesus. Understanding the importance of where our faith began, our eyes were opened to see incredible new truths in the Scripture. Overlooking the valley where Samson was raised, we learned the important of faith and obedience. Gazing across another beautiful valley, we learned what it means to throw our rock imitating the faith a young king-to-be named David demonstrated when taking on the giant Goliath. It truly is humbly and inspiring to walk the lands of the Bible.

Tel Azekah and Elah Valley

The Brook Elah is famous for the five stones it contributed to the young slinger, David. Some surmise that David chose five stones instead of the one needed in case he needed to face Goliath’s four brothers.

But beyond the sites, each of us was challenged in several areas in life today. We pondered our active part in biblical community and wrestled with God on several different issues. We were challenged to honor His name above all others, particularly our own. Today was also a day of God’s clear blessing. A cool breeze surrounded us throughout much of the day with clouds often providing just enough shade from the summer sun. Our team continued to grow closer to one another through our physical and mental exhaustion. We also found our way through some unusually tight spots with Joey Molis providing additional barriers to progress. But powering through, the team responded, even those with a little claustrophobia.

It felt like three days lived in one twenty-four hour period. Tomorrow we wake at 6am and begin again. Thanks again for partnering with us as take this journey together.
