WOW! What an awesome day! After roughly 18 hours of travel (without any mishaps, by the way), we hit the ground at 6 AM the next morning (eerily similar to a school morning 😊). With a buffet-style breakfast of cheese ravioli and pizza rolls, we headed off to a replica site, getting a great set of foundational knowledge about life in ancient Israel. It was an awesome idea to learn about normal life so that we could know more about famous Bible characters' lives.
Throughout the day we made stops at multiple tels and historic sights. A fan favorite was the "Caves of Adullam," where King David once hid with 400 men from King Saul. Being so claustrophobic, we learned to communicate under intense pressure just like the people did in Bible times.
The Brook Elah is famous for the five stones it contributed to the young slinger, David. Some surmise that David chose five stones instead of the one needed in case he needed to face Goliath’s four brothers.
Our tour guide Ronnie is awesome and super knowledgeable, providing plenty of interesting information all while bathing his message in a jovial, warm, and hilarious sense of humor. For one day, this has already been the eye-opening trip of a lifetime. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
After a 13-hour, action-packed day (it's 7:00 PM here), it's time to go to bed early!
