Help support our friends in Israel in their time of need.
Just a quick update to let everyone know that we made it to Israel safe and sound. The Huston and Chicago group caught an earlier flight to Tel Aviv and are already resting at the hotel. What a long flight but as they say, once you board an airliner to the Middle East your trip to the Holy Land begins. Too many stories to tell but let’s just say it was fun to experience so many cultures right from the start as well as drinking a lot of Turkish coffee.
From here we are heading to our hotel to try and get a few hours sleep before we start our first full day tomorrow. Continue to follow our trip, as we will do a bigger post tomorrow with some videos and photos. Thanks again for the prayers and following our journey.
Shalom,
Rich and Team
Tel Aviv
The biblical town of Joppa is today known as Jaffa. This was the main port of the coast before the Israelis constructed the ports of Haifa and Ashdod. The modern city of Tel Aviv was founded on the outskirts of Jaffa in 1909 and today it encompasses the ancient city. Tel Aviv means “the Hill of Spring” and it is the same name as the city of a settlement in Babylon during the Exile (Ezek 3:15). Today the Tel Aviv area is the largest metropolitan area in Israel.
