Help support our friends in Israel in their time of need.
Hey everybody,
Its Tim! We've finally made it to our hotel for the night. 20+ hours ago we set out from our homes and met at LAX. After 2 planes and a bus rides, 2 airline meals and lots and lots of sitting we are now getting ready to go to sleep. Even as the exhaustion starts to take over we're reminded of the exciting adventure that awaits us tomorrow.
It's incredible to think that soon we'll be exploring the land where Jesus walked. Seeing things in person that we've only read about and seen in pictures. Much like putting a face to a name I can't wait to identify these locations with the events in scripture. To help us out with that Mike gave us a reading list for tomorrow's sites so that God's Word would be fresh in our mind.
One of the places we'll be visiting tomorrow is the Cave of Adullum where David hid away from Saul. A passage that we read to complement the site was Psalm 57 written while David was on the run. It's ends in verses 9-11 with David decreeing "I will give thanks to you, oh Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to you among the nations. For your steadfast love is great to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds. Be exalted, oh God, above the heavens! Let your glory be over all of the earth." That's my prayer for this trip. That through it God would be glorified and exalted. That as we are out of our element like David, that we too would turn our attention to The One.
