A day we will never forget

Today was a special day.  In fact, for some of our group this was one of the most special, precious, days of their lives, and for the rest of us it is a day we will never forget.

Today we went to Nazareth.  We walked around in the orchards surrounding the city, learned about tektons (stone masons) which interestingly enough, was the trade of Jesus, we just translate it carpenter.  We talked about Joseph, the father of Jesus, for some time there as well.  Today we also went to Zippora, a major city at the time of Jesus, which was eventually settled by the Romans.  There we discussed Hellenism, and saw some amazing ancient mosaics.  Today we went to Mt. Beatitudes and discussed Christ’s amazing speech that he delivered there.  We discussed what he may have meant when he said each beatitude. It was an awesome conversation.  Today we even ended with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee.  It was incredible to be able to hang out on the body of water that is so crucial in the Bible story.  Most of our group had never been out on this amazing body of water and it was truly a beautiful site.  But were any of these awesome sites the reason why today was such a special day? No.

Today Ryan and Kylea, two of our own, committed to a life of being together.  That’s right, in the orchards around Nazareth Ryan and Kylea were married.  It was a beautiful ceremony done with many of the ancient Jewish traditions of marriage.  Rabi Scott led the ceremony that had some in tears and all taking pictures.  It was truly a beautiful experience.  So like I said it was a day we will never forget. Prayers and celebrations for them would be greatly appreciated.

Shalom from the land of milk, honey, and otherworldly farmers tans,

Jordan
