Help support our friends in Israel in their time of need.
Hey everyone! Claudia Davis writing all the way from Israel. Being here is such a dream come true for me! I have always wanted to walk where Jesus walked, walk in the desert where Moses led his people for 40 years and see a sunrise on the Sea of Galilee.
This experience has changed my heart and made the Bible come alive as I visit places I have read about and I will never forget my time here! Lots of hiking ( to the top of Masada today), lots of reading (reading through 1 Samuel while sitting under En Gedi) lots of eating (having lunch at Qumron before seeking where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found), and laughing and singing with old and new friends.
The summit of Masada sits 190 feet (59 m) above sea level and about 1,500 feet (470 m) above the level of the Dead Sea. The mountain itself is 1950 feet (610 m) long, 650 feet (200 m) wide, 4,250 feet (1330 m) in circumference, and encompasses 23 acres. The “Snake Path” climbs 900 feet (280 m) in elevation. From the west, the difference in height is 225 feet (70 m).
I will be forever thankful that I shared this time with my husband Bruce and son Eric.
Shalom!
