Help support our friends in Israel in their time of need.
Today we saw a Roman City and looked over the valley where Armageddon will happen! As we walked up the mountain at Beit She‘an Eric Wakeling told us to image we were a young boy from Galilee, to imagine that you grew up living close with your family working in the region and farming. Then, he told us to imagine walking over a hill on your way to Jerusalem and you see one of the Roman cities belonging to the Decapolis. Instead of the small village of 800 people where you grew up you saw a Roman city with 80,000 people. Giant Roman pillared streets, busy shoppers, bath houses, a gymnasium, an arena, and a theatre. We had the same reaction everyone did in the first century, amazement.
Located 17 miles (27 km) south of the Sea of Galilee, Beth Shean is situated at the strategic junction of the Harod and Jordan Valleys. The fertility of the land and the abundance of water led the Jewish sages to say, “If the Garden of Eden is in the land of Israel, then its gate is Beth Shean.” It is no surprise then that the site has been almost continuously settled from the Chalcolithic period to the present.
It was amazing to see what man is capable of creating. The city was wonderful to see; the ruins made you feel like you were part of ancient Rome. Robert and I stood on the stage of the theatre and did a comedy routine for everyone. The seats went up high above us and everyone could hear us perfectly. We obviously got huge laughs.
After, we left that place we journeyed to Tell Megiddo. Once there we heard a message from Dave about end time prophecy, as we looked over the valley where Armageddon will happen. As you can imagine we were all amazed.
From the earliest times (EB) to the earliest historical records of the area (Thutmose III) to the future (Revelation 16), Megiddo assumes a prominent role. This is largely owing to its strategic location astride the Megiddo Pass (Wadi Ara) and inside the busy Jezreel Valley.
A great day was had by everyone, we are having a great time and looking forward to waking up tomorrow at 5:45am! Tomorrow we will look into Syria and pray over our enemies. Talk to you soon!
