Hello and welcome to the Northpointe 2014 Israel Trip Blog.
I’m John and I’ll be writing to you each day telling you about the events of the day. I hope to make it both interesting and fun, with enough humor and substance to make you want to come back. The hard part will be making Day 1 sound fun.
Today was Day 1 of the trip. We met at Northpointe at 3:30 pm, and departed for Chicago at 4:00. We had a good bus ride down consisting of friends talking and one of the longest games of 21 Questions ever played. We got to the Chicago Airport at about 7:00 and, after going through security, we had about an hour and a half to wait for our flight. Most of us used it up eating dinner, going on walks, or talking to the other people going with us. After a slight delay, our plane left at about 10ish pm Chicago time on March 31 and would eventually get us to Amman at 6:00ish pm Amman time on April 1. On this long flight people used their time several different ways. Some read, some watched movies, some slept and some tried to sleep. Most of did some mix of all of those.
When we got to Amman we took a good length of time getting our bags and getting out to our bus. Once we were all loaded up we took a short bus ride over to our hotel, Miriam hotel. We went inside got our rooms, put our bags in them, and headed up dinner. After dinner we went back down to our rooms. I don’t know about the rest of the people, but Travis and I spent the time afterwards making this blog.
