Help support our friends in Israel in their time of need.
After a wake-up call at the now trending time of 6 a.m. and leaving at 7, we had devotions with Mr. Schenck out by the Sea of Galilee. After this we headed out to Mt. Arbel. After a grueling ascent and an encounter with an angry bull (short story), we reached the peak where we learned that this is the most likely place where the Great Commissioning took place. We had a lesson from Isaiah and Matthew up on the top.
After our descent, we rode to an area called Chorazin where a large house and synagogue was located. Here we learned about the traditional family house and synagogue teachings. Mr. Schenck taught about the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost sons. We then made a quick stop at the traditional area where the Jesus gave the Beatitudes, but we didn’t have enough time to stay.
We stopped for a quick bite of Falafel (Google it) and then visited the ancient city of Capernaum. Here we saw the ruins of the city, an old synagogue on the foundation of a synagogue from the first Century A.D., and the house of Peter (yes… the Peter). We then briefly went to Tigbah which is where Peter was reinstated.
After that visited a museum called the Jesus Boat Museum where a few archaeologists found an ancient Galilean boat (Jesus did not actually ride on the boat). We then took a boat ride across the Sea before riding to Mt. Susita. On top there was a huge building (the name and builders are unknown) and this location was believed to be the location where Jesus drove the demon Legion into the pigs. Finally, we rode back to the hotel, ate a fantastic dinner, and enjoyed our time to relax and sleep.
