An amazing biblical lesson connecting old, historical people, places and things directly to our current personal lives and spiritual faiths. I knew in my mind before this trip began that we would hear some amazing sermons from Terry. But I have been blown away by his ability to make these places come to life in order to strengthen our faith. This trip is more than just seeing cool sites or checking out some ancient artifacts. To me, this trip is about learning more about who God is, what He has done, and how we can trust Him more and more.

Hello from Israel! Today was definitely an exciting and FUN day. Not only did we get to visit the oldest city found in Israel, but we got.to.ride.a.camel. We visited the massive Masada fortress built by Herod the Great and we floated in the Dead Sea.
Unlike my own personal expectations, the camel ride was an easy, almost semi-relaxing experience. There was ZERO camel spit and the camel coats were pretty clean. They also seemed to have no problem carrying two adult-sized human beings around the Bedouin campsite. Not to overhype the camel, but these creatures are very unique in that they are perfectly suited to live, survive and thrive (at least the ones I polled – “Hi camel, do you consider yourself currently thriving or just surviving?”) in the desert.

Good morning, good afternoon, good whatever time it is wherever you may be! We’ve had an exciting day full of amazing biblical and geographical teaching, walking, and you won’t believe it – more walking! Let’s get started with a quick rundown of the day.
Where’d ya go? Yad Hashmonah, Beth Shemesh, Azekah, Maresha, Lachish (These are the places we visited, not a group of Hebrew women we met…ha….ha. Please say someone laughed at my corny joke?) This morning, I am sure most of us did not know what/where/why those words meant. By the end of the day though….wow. Through Terry’s biblical perspective and Yehoda’s vast knowledge of the land, we learned that these places were more than just locations on a map. These places were where the living and breathing men and women of the Bible were used by God to reveal His purposes to the Israelites and ultimately, the world.

I’m not sure if this is proper blog protocol but before we begin, let me to introduce myself. My name is Lucy and I will be your travel guide during our group’s (we’ve yet to determined a fun group name we can cheer in unison on the bus so TBD on that) journey through Israel. In case I write anything that sounds a little too jet lagged or run-on or rambling, I figured you should know who is responsible. Plus, if I say anything funny or clever….I want to make sure to get ALL the credit!
