What is a GTI Study Tour?

We’ve built into our study tours everything you need for an enjoyable and educational trip. We want you to be fully focused on the lessons and experiences you’ll encounter, and not be distracted by local tipping practices, transportation arrangements, or meal planning.

We believe that as a Study Tour participant you’re not a mere tourist—you’re an investment! This is evident from the moment you book your trip, through to the time you return home to share what you’ve learned with your friends and family.

Our seasoned guides and ministry partners do so much more than handle the details and keep things on schedule. Our local guides have personal experience and intimate knowledge of the places and events you’ll examine, and our ministry partner’s teachers have a shepherd’s heart and a passion for God’s word.

Eric Hoffman

Executive Pastor, Fellowship Bible Church

Eric grew up in a small town in Michigan where he was introduced to Jesus at church and at home. During a high school mission trip to Mexico, he made a personal decision to follow Jesus—a moment that shaped the trajectory of his life. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministry from Spring Arbor University (where he met his wife, Melissa) and a Master’s in Christian Leadership from Southern Seminary. In 2010, he relocated to Nashville to assist in launching the Franklin campus of Fellowship Bible Church, where he currently serves as Executive Pastor.

Eric’s own life was transformed at Fellowship, and his passion is to help others experience that same inside-out transformation through Jesus. He loves creating environments and resources that form wholehearted disciples—people who walk closely with Jesus and help others do the same through intentional, relational disciple-making. He is thrilled to travel through Turkey, exploring the places where the early church was born and where so many first said yes to following Jesus.

Melissa Hoffman

Melissa holds a degree in Social Work and has spent her life helping others feel seen, safe, and supported. With a passion for developing leaders and cultivating transformational group environments, Melissa is committed to creating spaces marked by trust, grace, and belonging. For the past four years, she has led numerous BibleProject Classroom courses, equipping others to dive deeper into the story of Scripture. A self-proclaimed Bible Nerd, Melissa loves making theological conversations accessible and engaging—especially in community. She’s excited to walk the ancient paths of Turkey and experience the story of the early church come to life alongside fellow travelers.
