What is a GTI Study Tour?

We’ve built into our study tours everything you need for an enjoyable and educational trip. We want you to be fully focused on the lessons and experiences you’ll encounter, and not be distracted by local tipping practices, transportation arrangements, or meal planning.

A GTI biblical study tour creates a unique context in which you can see Scripture in a new light while enjoying the rich joys of international travel with like-minded community. Going with your own pastor and church members is the best way to experience the land and lessons of the Bible.

Our study tours are enriching, relaxing and fun! Together, we’ll explore the past and present of Israel. Each day we’ll unpack what we’ve learned in the context of biblical history as well as our daily faith.

In addition to visiting the ancient sites where Jesus lived and taught, we’ll have the opportunity to dip our toes into the Dead Sea, sail the Sea of Galilee, not to mention the unique cultural experiences and conversations over delicious meals. Along the way, we will take in the sights, sounds, and flavors of the region, immersing ourselves in the culture and hospitality of the Holy Land. This tour offers not just an unforgettable adventure, but a chance to deepen your faith and walk the land where the stories of the Bible took place, a truly life-changing experience!

Dr. Matt Hook

Huron River Methodist Church

Matt Hook has two main life goals: “To get to heaven and take as many people with me as possible,” and “To provide as many ministry opportunities for as many people as possible.” Matt moved to Dexter with his wife Leigh in 2003 to be Sr. Pastor of Dexter United Methodist Church. Matt’s number one ministry is to be husband to Leigh and dad to 4 children: Hunter, Jillianne, Graham, and Joy (as well as several fish).

Matt grew up in Birmingham, Michigan, attended DePauw University for music/business, Garrett-Evangelical Seminary for his Masters in Divinity, and Asbury Theological Seminary for his Doctorate in Ministry, examining “How Seminaries are Preparing Spiritually Alive Pastors for the Local Church.” Matt is active in World Methodist Evangelism.

At church, Matt works with worship, stewardship, & staff leadership, in order to get our church to envision things only God can do, and then attempt those things!
