From the bulrushes on the banks of the Nile to panoramic view on Mount Nebo, this study tour will follow the life and footsteps of Moses - Shepherd, Leader, Prophet and Friend of God, the man with whom the Lord spoke face to face (Exodus 33:11). Richard Liverance and Jerrell Jobe will teach us each day and connect what we see to the biblical narrative, all from the comforts and convenience of a cruise ship.
Richard Liverance comes to GTI with an extensive background in biblical and Near Eastern studies as well as faith-based travel. He is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary and the Master’s Seminary, earning both a Master of Theology in Bible Exposition and a Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching. He served as a pastor for 25 years in churches throughout the United States, teaching both Old and New Testament studies. Rich then was privileged to serve the Economic Mission of the State of Israel at the Israeli consulate in Los Angeles, connecting Christian leaders and the travel industry in North America to Israel through the Israel Ministry of Tourism. Most recently, he completed a Masters in Archaeology and Near Eastern Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and now serves as the Assistant General Manager of GTI Tours.
Jerrell has been involved in full-time ministry for the past 25 years. His primary areas of focus have been spiritual formation and teaching. Jerrell has a BS in American Sign Language Interpreting, a MA in Spiritual Formation and Leadership, and is finishing a MA in Archaeology & Biblical History. Throughout his ministry, he has led over 100 trips, to more than 25 countries. For the past twelve years, Jerrell has been leading study tours to Egypt, Jordan, Israel, Turkey, and Greece. His passion is seeing life-changing spiritual formation transpire as travelers gain a greater understanding of the Story of Scripture in its original context, while engaging the ancient practice of pilgrimage. His on-site teaching is a rich mixture of archaeological discoveries, biblical history, practical application, story-telling and drama. In his free time, he enjoys reading, running, cycling, swimming, as well as helping to coach local high school wrestling teams. Jerrell and his wife Charissa have three children.
