How big are your corners?

We started out with devotions overlooking Jerusalem saying the Shema in Hebrew and English. We were challenged to live a Godly perspective as we looked at Hebrews 11, the faith chapter, how our heroes of the faith never saw the results of their faith. It was for future generations. We must also live our lives for future generations.

From there we went to the Shephelah. Heading toward Bet Shemesh we walked thru a field wondering where we were going. We were taught about Boaz and Ruth and the corners of their lives. Boaz left the corners for the poor, the widows, and the orphans. We were challenged by George to look at the corners of our lives. The question was asked "How big are our corners.""Where is your field?" Is your field where you work, where you live, your neighborhood." A man's character was established by how big he cut his corners. Your name was known in the community by your corners. We also talked about Samson and how he grew up complacent with no accountability. We were challenged to hold each other accountable.

From there we went to Bet Guvrin to view an original olive press. We were challenged to give our first fruits and to be pressed out and give our best to God. We caused Jesus to be pressed out for our sins and redemption. We then had an amazing lunch of fresh pita, veggies, and hummus, all served by our gracious driver and guide, Yigal and Nadav.

We then went to a first century tomb and were brought into a generational family tomb with an actual ossuary and envisioned being gathered to our fathers and had a faith lesson about Good Friday and Easter.

From there we made our way to the Little Town of Bethlehem, much different today from Mary and Joseph's time. Our day came to and end as we shopped at Johnny's place for memories to bring home to friends. We were blessed to have our last meal of the day in Manger Square, across from the birthplace of Jesus. Thank you God for giving us eyes to see, ears to hear, and ending the day with hearts that are full.
