No end in sight

Today we started with another 6am wake up call which came upon us very quickly. Breakfast was very delicious once again. After eating Mr.Schenck made the announcement, "load the bus!" and we were off on another adventurous day. Our bus driver Mayer drove us around two hours to our first destination. Passing through miles of desert we came upon a place called Wadi Zin. It was a quiet and peaceful place with a small stream and tall, dry mountains where we learned of the provision of God over his people no matter the circumstance or surrounding. The trail to the top was small and narrow with stone stairs and some ladders. Strain and heavy breathing resonated through the group. But as soon as we saw the end we got to stop, take a look and just enjoy the view. And WOW it was beautiful!!!!

Ein Avdat

The Nahal Zin was the southern border of the land of Canaan that was promised to the Israelites. Numbers 34:3-4 (KJV) “Then your south quarter shall be from the wilderness of Zin along by the coast of Edom, and your south border shall be the outmost coast of the salt sea eastward: And your border shall turn from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim, and pass on to Zin: and the going forth thereof shall be from the south to Kadeshbarnea, and shall go on to Hazaraddar, and pass on to Azmon.”

Soon after we were done soaking up the beauty we turned around to find the bus to take us to our next destination... But the bus broke down(or so we thought). After a few minutes of stress wondering how we would finish our days plans we started to walk through the desert with no end in sight; we sought for some sort of transportation. After around 15 minutes of walking through the desert we scaled one last hill to see a Bedouin community on the other side. "WHEW!", We thought. But little did we know, Schenck and Ronnie (our tour guide) gave us the news that it was all an act and they had planned this journey to mess with us all. Camels were waiting for us to ride through the desert trails! After around 30 minutes of riding the camels they stopped to drop us off at a Bedouin hospitality ritual tent of coffee, tea and baklava. (The sweeter the tea the more they like you... Mine was VERY sweet!!
