Fire Fall Down

Hello everyone! Toni Gmuer here with our latest update.

Another amazing day in Israel. We had a late wake up call lol 6:30 am and breakfast at 7, then off to the banks of Galilee for worship for the last time there. Then on to the bus to Nazareth and a hike up Mt. Precipice overlooking the valley of Jezerel where Jesus quoted from Isaiah that he was God and they tried to push him off the mountain but he walked away. Our next stop was Tel Megiddo where we learned about Solomon's disobedience and compromises, he did exactly the opposite of what God had asked of him. Example: one wife, no he took 700 and 300 concubines not a lot of horses and he had 12,000. Mike taught that the word of God is our guard rail. We overlooked the Valley of Megiddo so peaceful and beautiful and to think of all the wars fought there.

Megiddo

From the earliest times (EB) to the earliest historical records of the area (Thutmose III) to the future (Revelation 16), Megiddo assumes a prominent role. This is largely owing to its strategic location astride the Megiddo Pass (Wadi Ara) and inside the busy Jezreel Valley.

Next our low calorie Schnitzel and Falafel lunch with ice cream for dessert.

After lunch off to Mt Carmel where Elijah called down fire from heaven and killed the prophets of Baal. As we came back to the bus there was a Drew selling necklaces. The ladies hadn't been in a store for awhile so he was very successful, most got back on the bus wearing their purchases.

Mt. Carmel

Biblically, Mt. Carmel is referenced most often as a symbol of beauty and fertility. To be given the “splendor of Carmel” was to be blessed indeed (Isa 35:2). Solomon praised his beloved: “your head crowns you like Mount Carmel” (Song 7:5). But for Carmel to wither was a sign of devastating judgment (Nahum 1:4).

Next stop Herod’s castle and the Hippodrome where Paul was put on trial in front of King Agrippa. Also where the conversion of Cornelius took place. I was not prepared for the size of the Hippodrome it was awe inspiring and in amazing condition right on the Mediterranean Sea. 4:30 back on the bus on our way to Jerusalem. 8 o'clock feast in the dining room of our hotel and hitting the pillow to ponder this amazing day.

Caesarea Maritima

The city and harbor were built under Herod the Great during c. 22–10 BC near the site of a former Phoenician naval station known as Stratonos pyrgos (Στράτωνος πύργος).[2] It later became the provincial capital of Roman Judea, Roman Syria Palaestina and Byzantine Palaestina Prima provinces. The city was populated throughout the 1st to 6th centuries CE and became an important early center of Christianity during the Byzantine period, but was mostly abandoned following the Muslim conquest of 640. It was re-fortified by the Crusaders, and finally slighted by the Mamluks in 1265.
