Day nine and what a packed day it was!
We started this morning on top of the Mount of Olives, where Jesus took his disciples to camp the last week of his life. The birds were singing as we gazed over the Kidron Valley. It was such a clear day, Ronen was able to point out a number of landmarks such as the Temple Mount, the old city walls and Mount Zion to name a few.

Our first full day in Jerusalem was an incredible one! This city definitely does not disappoint. We began our journey by visiting the Temple Mount! The Dome of The Rock was strict and had me a little on edge, but absolutely beautiful! We learned all about the two different temples that were built before the dome. This beautiful golden dome mosque was built over the foundation stone (the place on Mt. Moriah where Abraham was to sacrifice his son Isaac)!

Today we packed our bags and left the Sea of Galilee to journey to Jerusalem with many interesting and educational stops on the way. The first thing we did was to drive through Nazareth, the home town of our savior Jesus. The city of Nazareth sure looks different than what we imagined in biblical days. It has many concrete buildings stacked on top of each other up and down the hills of Nazareth. Surprisingly, the population is made up of a variety of religions with Jews not being the largest group, but Muslims being first, Greek Orthodox being second, Protestants next then Jews coming in fourth. We learned that the Muslims have grown their population by procreation… Like having 10 kids! Can you imagine 10 kids in your family? From the top of Nazareth, you can see the whole country of Israel. It was beautiful.

On our last day staying at the Sea of Galilee we were treated to a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee. The weather was beautiful, the water was calm and the boat ride was smooth. Our trip began with an amazing time of worship where God met us in a powerful way. Singing praises to our King while out on the Sea of Galilee is just mind blowing. What a privilege to be where Jesus walked on water. Pastor Michael reminded us of the faith and risk that it took for Peter to step out of his boat on the same sea. This risk he took came with a great reward. He walked on water. Yes, Peter took his eyes off Jesus and began to sink, but first…he walked on water.

Hello beautiful friends and family! Can I just say, Jesus was good, is good, and will forever be good. We are all so blessed to be a part of His grand adventure He has us on. Here’s a glimpse from my point of view from today:
We started our day on the relaxing shores of the Sea(which is actually a lake) of Galilee worshipping and getting our hearts ready for the day- but I had no idea of what kind of preparation and plans God had in store for my heart, soul, mind, and body for the day. It was beautiful. It was calming. And it was rejuvenating.

Shabat Shalom! It is Saturday here, and as the Israelis say, we are in the Land of Jesus. As we woke up this morning on the shores of the Sea of Galilee- we were greeted with the sights, sounds, and beauty of Israel.
Early this morning Pastor Michael reminded us that we never grow with out His [Gods] revaluations. Today, that is exactly what he did- God revealed himself in incredible and unimaginable ways. While we may all be here on our own individual journey’s- I’d love to share with you part of mine…

Todays adventures were by far some of the most exhausting but I can honestly say I have never felt more held and safe in the savior’s hands than I do after today.
My knees were hurt and I was tired but none of that seemed to matter as we reached the top – Masada. All the stops along the way, all of the moments that it was hard to breathe, all of the times I felt like my legs were going to give out beneath me seemed to not even matter. We had made it and we had done it together.

Friends and family! Let me start by telling you that God is so good. That truth becomes more and more real in all of our hearts here in Israel.
Today we went to the Wilderness of Zin, Ein Avdat. This canyon was unlike any other. You will see pictures and videos but let me tell you they do not capture the beauty of the real thing. (You should come see for yourself ;)) So many plants, even animals, are given life from the water that runs through the canyon, which is a huge change is scenery from the miles of dry desert that surround it.

We did it. 20 hour of travel. 7,537 miles. 2 flights. 1 bus ride. Negative 28,800 seconds of sleep, but hey who’s counting?
If you’ve ever arrived in a new city at night, you’ll know what I’m talking about. You’ve made it, but in darkness, the landscape remains a mystery. It’s only when the dawn breaks that reality snaps into focus.
We are in the Land of God’s chosen ones; between the tribes of Judah and Benjamin; a lush green country of deep valleys and steep rock terranes. We have come to chase after God’s presence and to know him more deeply.

Our trip to Israel will be here before you know it!
Once we’re on the ground in Israel, we’ll post periodic updates and photos. Check back often or get update notifications using the subscribe options on this page.
We’ll be sharing our travel experiences online with you, our friends and family, to not only bring you along on the journey with us, but to also solicit your ongoing prayer and support. Most of us on this trip have been preparing mentally and spiritually for what will be a life-changing experience in the land. We’re also preparing physically as we train our bodies to handle all the time we’ll spend on our feet walking. So please pray that we would be diligent in our preparations and we would all be ready to learn what God has to teach us!
